At 13h 5’, the date of 13-12-2012, Unit 3, with capacity of 300MW Quang Ninh 2 Thermal Power Plant (Quang Ninh Thermal Power Joint Stock Company), which is designed by Main Consultant- Power Engineering Consulting Joint Stock Company 1, has been connected to National Grid.
Unit 3, Quang Ninh 2 Thermal Power Plant is official connected to National Grid at 13h05’ onDecember 13th2012.
Quang Ninh Thermal Power Plant 2 is constructed in vicinity of Quang Ninh 1 Thermal Power Plant at Area 5, Ha Khanh District, Ha Long City with capacity of 600MW including 2 units (No 3 and No 4), each unit has capacity of 300MW. The plant is financed with total investment capital approximate 440 million USD, it is invested by Quang Ninh Thermal Power Joint Stock Company, Power Engineering Consulting Joint Stock Company 1 (Pecc1) is main consultant. This is coal thermal power under Pulverized Coal technology, meeting the standards for emission to environment.
Observation for data at central control room
At the present, unit 3 of the Plant is basically completed and connected synchronous successfully on December 13th 2012. After trial commissioning, unit 3 achieved up to 30% capacity, equivalent to 90MW. Adjustment works are being done by experts so that the unit meets the most economic indicators under requirement of Contract. It is expected that after 20 adjustment days, unit 3 will get to 100% capacity.

Unit 4 is urgent to install. Basically, some important items such as stream drum lifting, hydro test for boiler are completed, turbine is being calibrated and cover of turbine is going to prepare casing on December 20th 2012.
Thus, up to now, Quang Ninh Thermal has three units putting into operation, contributing to increase power source for National Grid, contributing remarkably power source into energy development chart of Power sector.
Preparation time to press bottom for synchronized connection
Now Investor, Consultant and Contractors are trying their utmost so that up to May 2013 Unit 4 will be connected to National Grid.
After synchronized connection is successful
When Quang Ninh 2 Thermal Power Plant is completed, it will bring total capacity for whole Quang Ninh Thermal Power Plant up to 1.200 MW and supply power yield approximate 7.2billion kwh/year.
